Have you ever wondered how kings and queens lived, sipping wine and eating fine meals, turning in at night to your private chambers in your own castle, complete with hand-woven tapestries, secret stairways and shining armor?! This is your opportunity to tour breathtaking stone castles and spend the night in restored medieval stone buildings that have been updated with all the modern conveniences, transforming them into 4-star accomodations Isabel and Ferdinand could not have imagined!

Daily exercusions include visits to wineries for tours and tastings, tour the wine museum, and endulge yourself in four-star restaurants.

Arrive in the historic city of Burgo de Osma. Transfer from the train station or airport to your hotel, the Hotel Virrey, a restored convent and four-star hotel. At the Welcome Dinner, meet your host and fellow guests, and enjoy a sumptuous meal prepared by one of the finest chefs in Spain.

Aranda de Duero Winery Tour and TastingToday you will travel to Aranda de Duero to a local winery for a tour and tasting. Later, tour the Peñaranda Castle.

Travel to Valladolid - Travel to the ancient city of Valladolid and stay and the Hotel AC Palacio Santa Ana. Valladolid is a truly historic city, Ferdinand and Isabel made it their capital in 1492, it has some of Spain's best Renaisance art and architecture. On your way to Valladolid, visit Bodegas Matarromera and the museum of wine, as well as the Castle of Peñafiel. Dine at Don Bacalao Restaurant.

Salamanca - Travel to Salamanca and stay at the Palacio de Castellano. On the way, visit and lunch at the DO Rueda wine cellar, one of the oldest wine caves in all of Spain. Spend the afternoon and evening exploring the enchanting city of Salamanca, home to a university, founded in 1218 by King Alfonso IX. The university, the Plaza Mayor and the old and new cathedrals, are all must-see's and are located in the city center, all close enough to explore on foot.

Avila and Segovia - Today you'll Move on to Avila, the famous walled city. Avila's official name is Avila de los Caballeros (of the Knights) is a provincial capital and the city center is protected by the best preserved medieval walls in Europe. You'll have lunch at the Parador Nacional, a beautifully restored stone building, complete with hanging tapestries and suits of armor. Enjoy a tapas tasting today.

Segovia - Visit the city of Segovia, where you'll see the ancient Roman aqueduct, (over 2000 years old and still towers over parts of the city), the distinct Alcazar and the imposing Gothic cathedral. Segovia is a wonderful place to stroll, especially since many of the narrow streets are limited to pedestrian traffic. In the morning, visit La Granja de San Idelfonso, a sumptuous royal pleasure palace, built as a hunting lodge by Enrique IV during th 15th century, complete with garden's built to mimic those of Versailles that Felipe V remembered as a child growing up in France. In the afternoon, visit the cathedral and the alcazar. Enjoy a farewell dinner at the famous Restaurante Narizotas.
