The cuisine of Al-Andalus and other Moorish people, who inhabited Southern Spain for centuries has had a large influence on the Andalucian cuisine. However, the province of Granada was enriched the most by this mixing of culinary traditions. Inside this province are the highest peaks of the Iberian Peninsula, making it the best place to cure the famous "Jamon Iberico." As you will discover on this tour, the cuisine of Granada includes a wide variety of dishes, including many fresh fruits, vegetables and salads, as well as seafood and delicious "tapas."
Transfer from Granada airport or train station to the hotel. Your "four-course" vacation begins in earnest tonight when you meet your host and guide for dinner at the "Restaurante Sevilla," Yes, it's called Sevilla, but it's located in Granada!
Discover the Secrets of La Alhambra and Montefrio. Visit La Alhambra for a morning tour. In the afternoon, visit the town of Montefrio, famous for its chorizos. You will sample chorizos and fine local food. Afterwards, wander the quaint streets of the village and the beautiful church before heading back to Granada. Your evening is free for exploring Granada, the last and greatest Moorish city and all its "encanto" or enchantment.
Make a market trip to shop before preparing "tapas" - You will accompany your cooking instructor to the local fresh food market in the morning to see how Spaniards buy the freshest ingredients for tapas. Then, on the to cooking lesson. In this first cooking lesson, you'll learn to prepare a variety of tapas dishes, followed by lunch. Your afternoon is free to relax or get to know Granada and its many monuments, like the imposing downtown cathedral. In the evening, a tapas tour starts at 8:00. You'll visit some of the best and oldest tapa bars in Granada to build on what you learned in class. Make sure to bring your cameras to get the photos of both the fabulous tapas and the quaint and cosy bars.
Relax at the Beach & “Catch” Some Fish - Today you'll travel to Motril, a beautiful town in the Costa Tropical, the Tropical Coast. You'll check in to Casa Bates, a four-star hotel and 18th century Italianate palace, originally built as a hunting lodge. Your afternoon is free to stroll through the lush, green, 15th century gardens of this private estate, go to the beach or get to know the coastal towns of Motril or Salobreña. Meet back at the hotel that evening for a taste of speciality fish dishes.

Cooking Lesson 2 & a Visit to Malaga for Wine Tasting - Return for a second lesson at El Horno de Candida. Spend the early evening visiting the small and inviting white-washed village of Frigiliana, in the nearby province of Malaga for tastings (or "catas" as the Andalucians say) of the locally-produced wines.
