Culinary Discoveries offers you "four-course" vacations, where you discover the regional cuisines of Spain. Many times the first and perhaps only images of Spanish cuisine and culture are paella, sangria and flamenco, but there is so much more to Spanish cuisine. In its' long history, there have been many conquerors... The Phoenicians and the Romans in ancient times and then the Moors. Each left their mark on the cuisine and culture. In relatively "modern" times, influences from the new world continued to shape the cuisine and culture.
We help our guests discover this variety of cooking styles on the peninsula... from the stews of the damp northwest to fresh fish from the Mediterranean coast and the roast lamb of the central plain. Our "four-course" vacations offer you the opportunity to enjoy several regional cuisines in Spain, as well as learn to prepare dishes from master chefs.
You'll visit restaurants and bodegas where you sample delicious dishes. We know that while man can live on bread alone, it isn't much fun! So, we feed you like royalty, treat you to fine wine, tasty tapas and teach you to make your way around the fresh food markets. We won't rush you. Our cooking lessons can last 2 hours and afterwards you enjoy the meal that was prepared. Of course, there is always time for you to make some discoveries on your own.
Culinary Discoveries offers land-based tours that last 5 to 7 nights, where you will travel in small, relaxed groups and stay in comfortable, modern accomodations with distincly Spanish flavor - graceful Spanish estates, former monasteries and quaint Spanish inns. No need to worry about a language barrier because everyone at Culinary Discoveries is fluent in English and Spanish. Cooking classes are always taught in English or translated by one of the owners.
